Project Status
The original concept for T-1 came about over 10 yrs ago. Since then the Vertical project team have
produced detailed plans, models, tests and have made significant progress against the doner aircraft shell that they have used. The work done to date includes
detailed aircraft design, performance calculations and the installation of a Walter 760hp Walter M601-B Turboprop engine. To
accomplish this, an entirely new cowling was constructed and fitted to the aicraft.
The engine annunciator panel and reverse links system have been
installed and the interior has had its first stage of conversion to 6-seats and is awaiting customer preferences before the flexible seating configuration, enhanced
rear windows, executive leather interior and sound dampening can be installed and completed.
The engine, air system, undercarriage and braking systems will undergo a full overhaul with all lifed items replaced alongside any items that have worn beyond their recognised limitations. The aircraft currently has a used M601-B engine and V508-B 3-blade propeller fitted, this is what will be used for flight testing. However, when supplied the T-1 will be fitted with an overhauled and perfectly balanced V508-B propeller.
The fuel system and tanks will be upgraded since the engine uses TC-1 Diesel. The team will fit tried and tested extended fuel tanks and so yielding a fuel capacity of 320-480 litres (depending on client preference); an impressive range.
The exterior of the aircraft is held in state and is also awaiting the preferred colour and paint scheme to be applied. This new scheme will be applied at the final stages of overhaul after flight tests have been completed. The instruments panel will be modified based upon client specification before the colour scheme is finally finished.
When complete, the condition and performance of this aircraft will be entirely impressive and admirable to all those who see it and fly it. We are now inviting interested parties to inspect this aircraft in Kharkov, Ukraine in its current part-overhauled state. We recommend prompt attention if a pre-2004 delivery is required. Otherwise availability of this unique aircraft is likely to slip to April/May 2004 due to other projects. Contact us now for further information and to discuss a trip to review the aircraft, discuss options and meet the project team.
