The aircraft will be sold with lots of spares and an English manual and can be moved onto a more appropriate aircraft register if required.
BACKGROUND
The AN-2 has been in service for more than half-a-century and some 15,000 were built during this time. A large single-engine bi-plane made of an all-metal stressed-skin semi-monocoque structure with great STOL performance capabilities. Today, even low-time good quality examples of these aircraft cost little to acquire and have an unequalled safety record.
They have a long service life and originally designed to meet the criteria of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in the USSR. After 1960, most of the AN-2's were built in Poland at the PZL factory in Mielec. PZL Mielec enhanced the time before overhaul of these aircraft to 900hrs, 1500hrs, and 2000hrs in 1961, 1970 and 1973 respectively. Service life was enhanced from just over 6,000hrs to 15,000hrs!
