The Yak-52 aircraft was initially designed for military pilot training but has been available for import to the West for some time. Many pilots and groups have opted for the Yak-52 because of its relatively low cost and high performance compared to that of similar category aircraft in the West. A much loved and very capable aircraft supporting an impressive +7/-5g with full load.

Western registration issues have gradually gone away or become much easier to deal with and in so making the Yak-52 an impressive and very desirable aircraft for those living in the West. As you would expect from a training aircraft, it has dual controls and is relatively easy to fly aerobatic manouvres.

Complete Yak-52 overhauls are now common. Many are offered with custom paint schemes, extended fuel, upgraded engine and propeller and even the 100+ service bulletins have been completed and yet the Yak-52 still comes to the West as a worthy competitor at reasonable prices compared to similar Western categories. It's not difficult to see why the Yak-52 is a serious option for pilots and groups wanting to get a bit more thrill out of flying, all you need is a short test flight!

The Yak-52 is defined as a complex aircraft; with its 360hp 9-Cylinder M-14P radial engine and both retractable gear and variable pitch propeller, it is clearly a step up from when you first got your PPL. It is an adventure into the world of aerobatics and along with it, it brings style, charisma and presence.

Many modifications for the Yak-52 are currently available. For example, the engine can be altered to deliver 400hp(M-14PF), the propeller can be exchanged for a German MTV-9-260 3-blade or similar, extended wing tip tanks can also be fitted. However, expert advice is required when considering these modifications! Make sure you have the facts first; reliable information about the effects that some of these modifications can have on reliability and performance is still in great demand!

Looking for something original? This aircraft will be an absolutely outstanding fully-overhauled original Russian Yak-52 made in Smolensk, Moscow in 1978. The price includes a full overhaul to client specification: new ceconite, lifed items, new cockpit, leather interior, sound dampening, overhauled engine, brand new propeller and spinner and of course, a new paint scheme; designed by you, our designers or by working together.

Being one of the early original Yak-52's this aircraft does not have the manufacturers recommended service bulletins already incorporated. However, we can complete the required bulletins at an additional cost. The aircraft is currently based in Kharkov, Ukraine and is awaiting client specification.

Vertical overhauled the fabric and engine of this aircraft in 1990. It will also be sold with 2 Russian parachutes, log books, tools, tow-bar, covers, 2 shlimophone headsets and original Russian radio. Additional cost for transponder. We also offer a number of modifications for this aircraft. This aircraft was made in Romania in 1980. It has the same scheme as the one above, so the same photograph has been used here. It is now based in Kharkov, Ukraine and stands next to the one above. It is awaiting full client specification before it undergoes a full overhaul by Vertical.
