2-seat Pilot Trainer Aerobatic

Max. speed 254km/h, Cruise 195km/h, Landing/take-off distance 215/250m

The Yak-18A aircraft is now somewhat of a rare sight in the skies. This two-seat pilot training aircraft has dihedral wings like the Yak-18T but has a fuselage similar to the Yak-52. This aircraft inspired the creation of the Nanchang and exhibits similar characteristics of stability to that of the 18T.

Today, the 18A is far from common and is considered as a 'retro' aircraft. It differs from the Yak-52 in engine power and whereas the Yak-52 was designed as an aerobatics aircraft, the 18A was designed as a training aircraft.

If you are looking for something special but with a less raw aerobatic nature and fully overhauled to your scheme, then the Yak-18A could be the right option for you. Unlike Yak-52's and 18T's the 18A is unlikely to have any service bulletins incorporated into the overhaul work, so make sure that everything is scrutinized in detail.
